Zan and four dogs strolled through the park. It was a nice day out today, warm and sunny. This was good, except that it meant there was more activity outside to distract the dogs. He gave Pippin and Marty less leash so they couldn't pull as much. Keiko and Princess got more leash then them because Keiko was Zan’s dog and he could trust him and Princess was smaller than the other dogs so she couldn't pull very hard, plus this way she was less likely to get trampled by the big dogs.
When they passed a squirrel, Pippin, Marty and even Keiko started pulling towards it. Zan couldn't blame them for going after the squirrel, but he also knew that he couldn't let them keep this up if he were to remain the boss. Zan let out a sharp bark, to keep them in line. It worked on Keiko, but he had to growl a little bit and start to walk away until Pippin and Marty eventually followed.

Did she seriously just seen a kid bark at some dogs? Talia shook her head that was just ridiculously right? The red head had been sitting on the park bench reading a comic book that she had just brought. In her other hand Talia held onto a French Vanilla the only warmth that could warm her up. As the day went by it was getting better outside but Talia was still grateful for the hot drink. The girl was in the middle of reading the comic when she hear a bark but this was different it sounded human. There were four dogs and a young kid but it couldn't have came from him so she went back to enjoying her drink and comic. That is when a little squirrel got to close it hopped onto Talia bench and she let out a scream. The girl jumped nearly ten feet in the air spilling her drink all over the ground but she didn't care. Talia was too busy climbing the bench to get away from the squirrel.

Zan saw the girl jump up. She looked absolute terrified of the squirrel. Zan couldn't understand how someone could be so afraid of a squirrel. When he was a little kid, Wolfie (his first dog) would sometimes catch squirrels or rabbits and her and Zan would eat the raw meat off of the carcass. It wasn't very good, but sometimes that was all he could get to eat, so it was better than nothing.
Zan felt kind of bad for her, so he decided to help this crazy lady. He walked up a few feet from her side, opposite the squirrel, and held the leashes tightly so the dogs could get close enough to scare the squirrel but not close enough to hurt it, or the girl. The dogs growled and barked and, without thinking, Zan did too. He had spent so much time around dogs that he picked up a lot of dog sounds and would often do them automatically. Within several seconds, the squirrel jumped off the bench and scampered away.
